Q. I have Orthotics but I’m still in pain. Why?
A. It is not possible to give a precise answer on Orthotics without consultation, but over 25 years the Clinic consultants have assessed 1000’s of prescription devices. Orthotics are not all the same and may be prescribed by Podiatrists, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Doctors and bootmakers. Many do not have sufficient qualifications and training to accurately assess foot biomechanics.
The Heel Clinic prescribed arch based support Orthotics for over 10 years for heel pain until concluding just lifting the arch can create more strain on fibrous tissue due to the upward pressure. The Heel Clinic has created a distinct Insert that can align bone structure of the feet without arch “lift”.
